A walk outside a school changed everything

Founded on May 1, 2024, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, the Nanhee Khawish Foundation is a registered non-profit organization headquartered in Hyderabad, operating with a pure mission of giving back to society.

The Foundation is driven by the compassionate philosophy of its founder, Vinod Kumar Chandaliya. The spark for the foundation was ignited one afternoon in 2019. While dropping his son off at school, Vinod witnessed a group of government school children trudging along the road — completely barefoot.

Undeterred by early hurdles and spending over four years researching, attending workshops, and building a structural framework, Vinod successfully formalized the organization — turning this personal vision into a sustainable reality for disadvantaged children across India.

Walking barefoot — the harsh reality

In countless rural areas, small villages, and urban pockets, thousands of children endure their daily commute to government schools entirely barefoot — because their families cannot afford the basic necessity of footwear.

Because schools are often located far from their homes, these children must travel long, arduous distances every day. They navigate roads and paths with no sidewalks, frequently littered with sharp hazards like rocks, thorns, nails, and broken glass.
